Interview with Suzanne Pope, creative director in Portfolio Night 8-Toronto

suzannepopeadwomenSuzanne Pope is Creative Director at John st. She has experiencie in consumer, business to business and pharmaceutical advertising. Her work has been recognized internationally by The One Show (Silver Pencil), Communication Arts, the London International Advertising Awards, the New York Festivals, Lurzer’s Archive, the Obies and Clios. Canadian recognition includes awards from the Advertising & Design Club of Canada, Applied Arts magazine, the Extra Awards, the Marketing Awards, the Billis, the Bessies and the Cassies.

She has been a guest contributor to Ihaveanidea and she is also a member of ‘Been There’, a panel of female advertising professionals dedicated to the advancement of younger women in advertising.

Clients past and present include IBM, Jaguar, Unilever (Pond’s, Dove and Becel), Hewlett-Packard, Timex, American Express, KFC, Mattel, Midas, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, The Bay, Zellers, Molson, Telus Mobility and Novo Nordisk.

Interview to Konstantina Chatzaki, creative director in Portfolio Night 8-Athens.

k_chatzakiKonstantina Chatzaki studied Mass Media y Communication and in 2004 she got her MA in Advertising and Marketing with a distinction from Leeds University Business School. In the same year, she started working at OgilvyOne as copywriter in traditional advertising. She did campaigns for clients Duch as Coca Cola, Lufthansa, Diageo and DHL, with this client she won the Bronze Award in th Greek Advertising Festival, Ermis Awards.

In 2006 she shifted to online advertising and currently she working as a Creative Director in OgilvyInteractive of Panos Sambrakos’ team. Some of her digital campaigns got awards in the Greek Advertising Festival, and also internacional acclaim in IAB’s MIXX Awards, the London Internacional Awards and the New York Festivals.

Konstantina, after working on each campaign always  she makes short european getaways to watch music concerts or to visit old friends from her Leeds Uni days.

Portfolio Night 8: The opportunity for creative young women

On May 20 there will be the new edition of Portfolio Night in 39 cities worldwide. An event where the best creative directors of agencies will made available to young creative to see their work and value it.

Portfolio Night was born in Canada in 2002, held in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Since then is driven by ihaveanidea, the first and largest international community of the advertising industry. Today is one of the most anticipated events of the sector in different cities.

This event is important for creative directors to hunt talents and for the young people is the opportunity to teach their jobs and to get into the job market.

From AdWomen we want to encourage all creative young people to participate and take this opportunity to meet with the top creative directors in their country.

Kathryn Bigelow: The first woman to win an Oscar for best director

In 82 years of Oscar history no woman had done so. Australia’s Kathryn Bigelow has become the first woman in history to win the Oscar for best director with ‘The Hurt Locker’ a drama that takes place in Iraq, which has won five statuettes more: Oscar for Best Picture, Oscar best original screenplay Oscar for best sound editing and Oscar for best sound mixing.
