British ASA bans L’Oreal campaigns

The main aim of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is ensure that the majority of ads are honest and truthful, and of course, that advertising industry obey with legality. Following these premises, British ASA has decided to ban a Maybelline campaign featuring Christy Turlington and a Lancome ad starring Julia Roberts for using too much airbrush.

The ASA claims that these campaigns don’t show the real results that L’Oreal’s products can achieve. However, L’Oreal argues  that despite the post-production techniques, the images accurately show the results of their products. The information that has been provided by  L’Oreal  hasn’t been sufficient and finally the UK’s independent regulator of advertising has decided to ban these campaigns.
